The yes men

Im starting to enjoy seeing new media coming out in the Warwick Art Centre, this time I went to see a documentary at the cinema. I found myself enjoying it so much because it was such a fresh comedic approach towards politics which I have never really paid interest to.  I think they have done well by widening the target audience as I found that the audience in the cinema came from all ages and backgrounds.

“THE YES MEN FIX THE WORLD is a screwball true story about two gonzo political activists who, posing as top executives of giant corporations, lie their way into big business conferences and pull off the world’s most outrageous pranks.

From New Orleans to India to New York City, armed with little more than cheap thrift-store suits, the Yes Men squeeze raucous comedy out of all the ways that corporate greed is destroying the planet.

Brüno meets Michael Moore in this gut-busting wake-up call that proves a little imagination can go a long way towards vanquishing the Cult of Greed.

Who knew fixing the world could be so much fun?”

What I adored about this documentary the most is the inventive pranks that 2 random men can pull on big corporations, and how they can stir such controversy to point out what is wrong with the world.  I think that it is a powerful piece that can inspire many people into changing their ways and help just a little bit. It just proves to show that we can easily accomplish something even with no money, no government power and cheap suits. If two men can do it why wont the rest of us?

This is one of the bigger hoax from the documentary- Andy Bichlbaum pretending to be a DOW representative and making bold statements to compensate for the real corporations mistakes.
